[net.books] Blackthorne info request

talmy@randvax.UUCP (Shel Talmy) (02/01/86)

I read 3 or 4 books about a character named, "Blackthorne",
a few years ago, & can't remember the author.

Blackthorne is a Bow Street runner, & the books are excellent.
Any info about author & titles would be appreciated.

I have two books about a Bow Street Runner named "Blackstone". The author
is Richard Falkirk. _Blackstone_ has a copyright date of 1972, and
_Blackstone's_Fancy_ is copyrighted in 1973.

I believe Blackthorne was also the protaganist in Clavell's "Shogun".

Off the top of my head, I'd say you were thinking of William F. Buckley's
spy novel series (`Stained Glass', et al). Blackey is an engineer/CIA
agent.

p.s. I think two others were `Saving the Queen' and `The Story of Henri
Tod'.
