I am very curious about something. I get the impression that there are a lot of people out there who are not prepared to ascribe truth value to anything that is not >* scientifically *< provable. (Introducing meta-discussion that might prove to be less emotional) Do you believe this? If so in what form? Or are there specific areas yoyu consider not subjectable to this (like: my wife loves me), and if so how do you decide which areas are subject and which aren't? A specific thing I have in mind w.r.t. science are results like the Uncertainty Principle (perhaps not incredibly relevant) and Goedel's work (Loose summary as I understand it: for any formal system X there exist statements which are true, but which cannot be proven to be so. I.e. provability is weaker than truth.) Ralph.
