[net.religion] Omniscience, free will, and God

palmer (04/28/83)

If God really is omniscient, then it is obvious that HE knows what HE
is going to do. This means that he has no choice in the matter.

There is no way that he could have prevented himself from killing all
the innocent firstborn in Egypt, because he knew that he was going to.

There is no way that he could have set things up so that people
wouldn't go to Hell, because he knew that he wouldn't.

You cannot blame God in this matter, he is as innocent as the rest of
us. The ones to blame are those who created God, and, if they are
omniscient, the ones who created them.
