[net.religion] Subdividing net.religion

I'm opposed to the subdivision, simply because I don't think it's all
that practical. Now, I suppose we could divide into net.religion.Xity,
net.religion.totemism and so on just to keep the topics separate, but
as far as trying to keep the arguments out of the subgroup, this just
ain't gonna happen! If these religions were all one big happy family,
there wouldn't be schisms and factionalism and the IRA and who knows
what all else. Now, I grant you that some submitters to the net are
simply asking for doctrinal information (e.g. "What do Mormons believe?")
and this sort of thing can be answered non-controversially as long as
the responder doesn't get too detailed or the question isn't too
broad (e.g. "What do Christians believe?"), but it's the details that'll
get you every time.

Anyway, who wants to miss all the arguments? And if we subdivide, what
about cross-doctrinal arguments? It's messy the way it is, but it isn't
broken badly enough to need fixing. If you can't take the flames, stay
out of the fireplace.

How about splitting net.religion into US and THEM subgroups. Nah,
that's confusing. I got it, RIGHT and WRONG!

Subdividing net.religion into various discussions might be a good idea,
but segregation along religious lines is ludicrous. Oh YEA? YEA!
