I heard on the radio that George Harrison, Ringo Starr, & Yoko Ono are sueing Paul McCartney. It has something to do with Paul making more money off the old Beatle record royalties (Capitol). Does anyone know any more about this ? Shawn Daly seismo!cmcl2!nybcb!daly

I think what you may be referring to is a suit by Apple Corps Limited against Capitol/EMI that alleges that Capitol/EMI owes the Beatles millions of dollars in royalty payments over a ten year period. According to the latest issue of Musician magazine, there is a rumor that Paul, George, Ringo and Yoko have agreed to testify against Capitol/EMI. The suit was filed in 1979 according to the magazine. David

The suit is being lauched by Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison against Paul McCartney for $8.6 million. According to the Sunday Mirror, the suit, which was filed in New York, claims McCartney earns more royal- ties from the Beatles hits than do the other Beatles. Bob O'Neill, legal spokesman for Capitol-EMI Records, was quoted by the paper as saying that McCartney's extra money comes from the record company's cut and that it does not affect the other ex-Beatles' shares.
