Actually the world ended 17 years ago, but due to a bureaucratic foulup, nobody has told us yet. Once the word comes down, we will be required to turn in our souls at convenient K-Mart stores within 24 hours. re: 2000 as the end of the world It should be noted that in the year 999, all over Europe people had been convinced through similar feats of mathematical wizardry that the world would end by the year 1000 (something to do with the millenium). In typical "let's-interpret-the-Bible-to-prove-whatever-we-want" fashion, the mathematics was re-evaluated and the Bible re-interpreted (in 1001 AD) to mean TWO millenia (from the death of Jesus till the end of the world). Maybe in 2001 a similar re-analysis will take place saying that what was meant was THREE millenia (because of the Holy Trinity?)... Actually, I am joking. In 999, they were in the middle of the Middle Ages, and they were misinformed. In this modern age, we understand such things much better than they did, and we know for a fact that the world will end in the year 2000. Rich ATTENTION K-MART SHOPPERS! PLEASE TURN IN YOUR SOULS AT THE FRONT DESK...
