[net.religion] Sodom and Gomorrah

Before forming a newsgroup for homosexuals, the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah
should be recalled:

And the L-RD said: 'Verily, the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great,
and verily, their sin is exceeding grievous...' (Genesis 18:20)

'... for we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxed great
before the L-RD; and the L-RD hath sent us to destroy it.' (Genesis 19:13)

Then the L-RD caused to rain upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire
from the L-RD out of heaven; (Genesis 19:24)

The Bible says:
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is an abomination.
(Leviticus 19:22)

Here is a reason to follow G-d's Word:
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105)

It's always interesting to see what some religion says its holy books
say about a particular topic, but it's of little relevance to the
behavior of others -- believers in other religions, other scriptures,
other interpretations, or no belief at all.  If you don't like net.motss,
you're perfectly welcome to unsubscribe.

I thought it was appropriate that this moronic bit of intolerance was posted
by someone named "nixon" (utcsrgv!nixon, to be precise). Are we supposed to
be afraid that Big Daddy Yahweh will cause fire and brimstone to rain upon
USENET for allowing gays to participate?  Gee, I'm really quaking...
