We have been studying netnews traffic, here at Bell Labs Research, and believe that large amounts of telephone connect time presently devoted to flames could be saved by simply naming a Flame Viewpoint followed by a Flame Subject. The local news system would then supply the full text of the flame. possible examples of category scripts for various Flame Viewpoints: Fundamentalist: On the day of judgement, God will cast all *** into a lake of fire. The Word of God says (verse $$$, chapter %%%) that they who *** shall be @@@ (appropriate eternal agony). It is my duty to love all ***; but it is for their own spiritual good that I think they should all be shot and their children branded and cast out. Liberal: Firstly, I am not ***, nor do I think I will ever become ***. Frankly, I think being *** is distasteful and somewhat icky. However, I will defend to the death every person's right to be *** in the privacy of their own home. Probably, they should not teach my children, but some of my best friends are still ***. Conservative: A healthy, free society cannot withstand or condone the presence of ***. Furthermore, we must strive to eradicate *** wherever it occurs, here or abroad, and support the principles and vital interests of free market trickle-down democracy. All too many well-meaning *** are innocent tools of Soviet aggression. Crackpot: The only good *** is a dead ***. They are in league with the $$$ and the %%% to destroy the integrity of my race. I read that they are behind an international banking conspiracy headed by Nelson Rockefeller (who isn't really dead!) and Prince Charles. All *** should be electrocuted in boiling acid after watching their children being fed to dogs on national TV. So there! Marxist: The *** are an unfortunate and necessary product of alienated proletariat class struggle. *** will disappear in the new society. The repressed *** are a potentially revolutionary class whose power must be channeled toward the resolution of the social dialectic. Budding Hacker: I'm new to the net; maybe this is the wrong newsgroup to talk about this. I was thinking about *** and had this idea. What if identical twins were separated and raised, one as *** and one as not ***? Wouldn't this tell whether being *** is genetic? Of course, this might not be ethical, but I think it's a neat idea. Maybe it is just the way my brain works! Tests: This is a test. Please ignore this message. (Sorry) Michael Merritt Don Mitchell
