Dave Norris (ssc-vax!david) asked why I left "the beast" out of the End-of-the-World Survey. My apologies to the beast, if he's been reading the net. (Or, does he stay in net.comics?) I was more interested in the latter ques- tions: how does your belief in the end of the world influ- ence your day-to-day behavior, or how tolerant are you that other people's beliefs might influence theirs. The beast is a part of HOW the end of the world is going to happen, according to most CHRISTIANS. Not all my 'yes' answers have come from Christians, however. And, even for a Christian, I'm not sure the details of the end are relevant to what one may or may not be doing to get ready for it. Maybe I'm wrong about that last part. Does anyone spend time trying to figure out who the beast is? That sug- gests another survey: Who is the beast? Unfortunately, I can only find time for one survey at a time. I hope someone else will volunteer to collect answers to that one. (And count my vote for Tim Maroney!) Bruce Smith, UNC-Chapel Hill decvax!duke!unc!bts (USENET) bts.unc@csnet-relay (lesser NETworks)
