I don't understand this type of argument at all.  What are we worried about
here, our pride or the truth?  If people take evolution as an insult, well
so be it.  It has nothing whatsoever to do with whether evolution is valid
or not.  I don't feel terribly insulted, but if I did, that would be no
reason to discount evolution.  This is a major problem with creationists.
They don't LIKE a theory so they set out to find out why it MUST be wrong!

As far as man being more significant than animals, well I might agree.
After all, man is the ONLY creature who:

1. Has wars.
2. Causes pollution.
3. Has perverse thoughts.
4. Tortures fellow human beings.
5. Could cause the end of all life on earth.

Yes, I think man is significant, but it's not something to be too proud about.
