I've been wondering about the following passages from the bible for
a long time. Maybe someone out there can clarify them for me. The
passages I'm refering to are Genesis 4:8-17 & Genesis 6:1-6. I am
reading from the Living Bible (study Referance Guide) if that helps.
When I read these passages several questions come to mind. They are
as follows: 1)If there were only three people in the world at the time
(Adam,Eve, & Cain) why was Cain so worried about other people killing
him? 2) If there were more than three three people around (in other
unspecified areas) why do Christians claim that God created man as stated
in earlier passages. 3) If there were only three people in the world at the
time, why would they need (or bother) to build cities? 4)Who founded the
land of Nod? 5) Where did the people come from to accomplish this? 6) Why
would Cain bother to found a city when there wern't enough people around
to live there?
The above questions refer to Genesis 4:8-17 Questions on Genesis 6:1-6
appear below.
1) What (or who) were these "beings from the spirit world"? 2) What is
meant by the referance to a race of giants? What (or who) were these beings?
3) It states that "In those days,and even afterwards," does this mean it
is still going on today or even throughout Biblical History? 4) What ever
happened to this race of giants?
There are several more questions i have concerning the passages I refered
to. For the sake of brevity I'll save them for another day. I hope that
someone out there who is more knowledgeable than I can explain the true
meaning of these passages. Could it possibly be an error in translation
from the original Hebrew texts (oops,I forgot every word is to be taken
literally as stated in the Bible). Or,could there be another possible
explaination that's better? Please let me know your views on these issues
either by posting to the net or send me mail. I'll be glad to hear from
you. I like to think I posses an open mind, so opinions that are differant
from mine don't bother me too much. However please read the passages I
refered to before stating any opinion.
IN case anyone is planning to FLAME ME OUT OF EXISTANCE be
assured my shields are raised and I've armed my phaser banks.

I know to have a meaning ful discussion (debate) on any issue.
