I have been seeing a series of commercials lately that keep telling me that US Government people and ice skaters consider their "personal relationship with G-D" to be he most important thing in their lives. They then imply that the Power for Living book will help you do anything you want by developing this relationship. Just call a toll-free number .... I am rather intrigued by all this. It reminds me of the (in)famous "I FOUND IT" campaign of years ago. I loved the Bumper Sticker campaign (in response) of "WE NEVER LOST IT", and "YOU CAN KEEP IT". What is all this about? Are they giving the book away for free? Are they trying to build up a mailing list? My suspicious mind detects evangelism (or worse) at work here. Needless to say, I refuse to call the number they gave on principle. Have any other brave souls tried this number? I have considered calling in and ordering one in the name of Jerry Falwell, but he is probably too busy to change his ways now. Who is putting out the money for this advertising campaign, and is this a valid use for money that the government can't tax because of separation of Church and State. My personal point of view is rather obvious. Anybody else have any comments? -- -=> Avi E.
