[net.religion] On being all-knowing

*Doesn't this belong in net.flame?*

Alan, I never said I had all of the answers. I have to spend more time than
most people think doing research in the Bible, concordances, interlinear
translations, and other Christian material to come up with reasonable
responses to some arguments. (I am not sure that I can keep up at this pace
anyway; it is taking up a lot of time). If I have portrayed an image of "all-
knowledgable", I apologize. When I say I know what God is going to do to Tim
Maroney, I didn't mean that God happened to mention it to me during lunch.
I am stating that if Christianity is correct, then Tim was going to hell.
But Tim has said the same thing; so, in a sense, both Tim and I know what God
is going to do to Tim (again, if Christianity is correct. But that was not
Tim's point, nor was it mine).

Do you mean I am proud of my God? That is true. If, however, you mean that
I am proud of my own self, well, that is true of everyone in some degree. I
suspect that wounded pride produces more net articles (esp. religion) than we
believe. I am sorry if my words made it appear that I was proud of my
religious knowledge. If anything, I am sorely lacking in knowledge of matters
religion. Hopefully, Alan, your statement is not based on my seeming ability
to come up with reasonable arguments for Tim's arguments.

There is a difference between echoing others words and accusing; I may as well
"accuse" a river of being wet. When I say Tim is proud, I am just stating
that which he has said himself. Tim boasts that his morals are better than
Gods, he would walk proudly into Hell, and that he could do a better job than
God.

You and others may continue to attack me personally if you wish; my feelings
may be hurt (I am still human) but hopefully God has removed enough of my
pride that I will not try to take revenge on the attacker. I have looked at
myself to see if my response to Tim was done out of revenge; but I don't think
so. I responded for the sake of any Christians on the net who are not as
well-read as Tim, or who are new and haven't heard the whole story yet. Come
to think of it, I am full of c--p, so if you will excuse me...:-).
