Pat Wilson asks which Bible version is best. John Hobson submitted a good list of the different translations, and made a good point that the KJV is an old translation and quite often 1600's english != 1900's english. This makes misinterpretation more common with the KJV, but it is a nice piece of literary work. If you like languages (I happen to like the Canterbury Tales, in Old English), you would probably enjoy it. There is another Bible you may be interested in called the "Parallel" Bible. It contains four of the most popular translations, and is ordered so that each verse from each translation is available on the same page, without having to flip pages back and forth. This is nice when you want to compare the different translations (without having four separate Bibles), and to get a better "flavor" for a particular verse. Of course, the larger book carries a larger price tag, but it is much less than if you were to buy 4 separate books. I bought one for my wife some time ago, and she loves it. -- David Norris -- uw-beaver!ssc-vax!david
