I think the material presented on abiogenesis brings up some interesting points but it is, in a sense, a straw man. Again, only the world-view of certain flavors of creationists see abiogenesis as a part of evolu- tionary thought. In truth, the question of the origin of life (as opposed to the species, I suppose) is hardly central to the question of evolution. I suspect this discussion should be moved to net.bio where it is likely to encounter somebody who knows something about recent research into the subject.
