[net.religion] secular values in the schools

I agree in large part with Paul's remarks concerning value systems being
taught in schools. Actually, I think most teachers are still conventionally
religious. The big "humanist" or "liberal" push comes from academic types
who design curricula and pass it down the line.

In fact, I think the whole creationist movement is a reaction to things
like MACOS (Man A Course of Study) which pushed a definite value system,
from what little I know of it. I can't really blame religious people for
becoming alarmed at this trend. Creationism is a curricular "Battle of
the Bulge".

I'm putting a few remarks concerning Paul's observations about critical
thinking and the supposed degradation of schools today in net.kids.
