I think Thomas Aquinas said the definitive word on this
subject a few hundred years ago:
   
  "You cannot arrive at faith by reason."

Yes, and with this in mind there is no reason to have faith
in things that cannot be justified by reason and logic.

You've got it backwards!  If things CAN be justified by reason and logic, then
there isn't much reason to have faith (except in the sense of faithfulness,
i.e. continuing to believe in them even if you wish they weren't true); if
reason and logic are enough to handle a particular matter, fine.  But Rich
has just stated (thank you, Rich!) the basic assumption that his side makes,
which I have (in another article, just submitted) challenged Rich or anyone
else to support.
