Yes it is indeed tempting to convert and thus relieve ones problems onto a fictitious being during a crisis. But every time it happens, I just recall one of the reasons I'm an athiest: I don't need "something" to believe in when I've got my family, my friends and myself to have faith in. The latter three are tangible; the former isn't.
