[net.religion] Are Flames the heart of the matter?

I suppose it depends on how you define "superior". I believe that, yes, it
is superior because it is the truth.

This may be truer than you think. Lewis says as much, I think, in Mere
Christianity.

But no, this is not precisely what I meant. What I meant was that given any
aount of evidence, from nothing up to 100% positive proof, it wouldn't make
any difference. People who go to Hell will walk in of their own choosing.
Tim Maroney (may he rest in peace) summed up my thoughts rather well when
he said he would proudly walk into Hell. Satan himself had 100% positive
proof of God, but decided to reign rather than serve.

>	a) What evidence? Show it.

I cannot believe that you think I have some "ace" in my pocket that will
demonstrate the truth of Christianity. Now, perhaps I give too much credit
to folks on the net, but I'm sure most of us have heard the case for
Christianity (or at least heard of it). Have you read the Bible? What are
you *really* asking me?

Now, that I can provide some small defense for Christianity I do believe.
I can answer questions insofar as my limited knowledge and somewhat larger
library at home allow. But I do grow tired of the "show it" or "prove it"
sort of attitude that many show. Jesus told us of sowing seeds on rocks.

>	b) When you began to believe in Christianity, did you
> already have this, or did you believe, and look the

I do not see what my personal life has to do with the veracity of Christianity.
I will nevertheles answer your questions.

When I became a Christian, I was aware of the evidence for Christianity. I
was in fact aware of it for some time. I did not believe because it did not
convenience me to believe. After becoming a Christian, though, I have become
aware of a great deal of information I did not know about.

>Now a question which I suppose IS insulting, but then, I LIKE flame.

Then perhaps we have come to the crux of the matter. If you are only here
to flame, say so in advance so I can 'n' over your future articles. Or go
to net.flame, and mention something about copyrights or software piracy.
You'll get all the flames you want.
