Mr Mammel's assertion about Jesus' failed prophecy hinges
on one's understanding of what Jesus was referring to
when He said that some of His listeners would see the
"kingdom" before their deaths. In several places in the
scriptures (in Luke in particular) Jesus stated that the
kingdom of God is within you. The disciples never grasped
that concept until the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost
and the birth of the Church. Inerrancy is a difficult doctrine
to live with in an ultimately skeptical age, because the skeptics
seem never to give the benefit of the doubt that they would surely
appropriate for themselves.
