From Steve Collins: >Dwight Thompson is back in Chicago. He will be shown on >channel 38 at 7:30 PM for this entire week. He is preaching >at channel 38 studio on June 25 - 28. I watched Mr. Thompson on the silver screen. As I feel that I am not qualified to discuss the religious aspects of Mr. Thompson presentation, I shall restrict my comments on the theatrical side of his presentation. I think that if Mr. Thompson had chosen acting as a career instead of preaching, he would have most likely achieved a universal recognition for his theatrical abilities. The Irish humorist Dave Allen (from the BBC show Dave Allen at Large), who has been famous for his exploits of humor in religion, could only be ranked as a distant second to Mr. Thompson. I find Mr. Thomson's monologue a very fine and convincing theatrical presentation. I especially admired his very graphical portrayal of hell. Many of us secularists, who are critical of religion, have to admit that religion has some merits. From our point of view, it seems to have a very strong entertaining side (Rich, do you agree?). -- Yosi Hoshen Bell Laboratories Naperville, Illinois (312)-979-7321 Mail: ihnp4!ihuxn!jho
