<The Devil Made Me Do It...>

IF
The Bible is a book written by men

AND
Men sometimes lie and sometimes are deceived

AND
The Bible is the main basis for belief in Christianity

THEN
Christianity is on pretty shaky logical ground.

(Without even going into its internal weirdness. God is Love,
but if you screw up and believe other than the One True Way
you'll burn for all eternity. Even though there are many
with competing claims for One True Ways.)

Objections:

"The men who wrote the Bible were inspired by God!" Perhaps, but so
is Salvadore Dali. I don't worship him. How do you react to contemporary
people claiming divine guidance? ("God and I wrote this book together...")

"The truth of Christianity has been revealed to me!" Fine. Such truth
has not been revealed to me.

If the Truth has not been revealed to you, why are you a Christian?
Was Christianity pounded into your little head from the time you were
old enough to think? Or what?

Just wondering......
