Not a bad idea, net.religio.pagan. Maybe some of those shy people out there would open up a bit. Still, it may be useful to post to net.religion, if only so that people who have never given the subject close thought could see that it IS HERE, and learn about it. (yes, i know, they can always subscribe to the pagan news group, but if they don't know what it is, would they be interested?) Merry Samhain, Happy New Year

I think that discussing pagan and other non-Christian religions is a good idea. Instead of attacking each other religion (or non- religion), we could discuss and compare on an intellectual basis various religions. Identify their similarities and differences. What are the religions' moral positions. What is the relationship between humans and deities in the respective religions. It is quite obvious that the skeptic camp and the religious camp premises and initial assumptions are incompatible. Therefore, it is unlikely that we could convince each other. On the other hand, if some of us could list the main ideas of the various religions, it may be easier to compare and understand these religions. -- Yosi Hoshen Bell Laboratories Naperville, Illinois (312)-979-7321 Mail: ihnp4!ihuxn!jho
