[net.religion] In search of ... the Romans

lew@ihuxr.UUCP (Lew Mammel, Jr.) (11/18/84)

Our netlink has been down for about a week and the news is just starting to
dribble back in. This is probably pretty old by now, but here goes anyway.

Mark Terribile writes:

>The preservation of the Jewish Bible and the cultural integrity of Judaism
>through several millenia is one of the wonders of history. Where are the
>Romans of Imperial Rome -- where are their writings? Where are the writings
>from the interior of Africa? Only in India and regions of China do we
>find anything near the cultural continuity and preservation.

It's hard to imagine that Mark thinks the Romans vanished without leaving
written records. Such abysmal ignorance is stupefying. Where are their
writings ????????????? IN THE LIBRARY, YOU ASS !!!!

The best known work of the Romans is their reworking of the N'tzarim
writings into the 'New Testament'.
