Subject: Ms. Emily Litella speaks on Idolatry in the U.S. What's all this talk about the Naivete' scenes being upheld by the Supreme Court as evidence that the U.S. has become an Idolatrous nation ? I think that if naive people want to make scenes that's their business !! But seriously.... Wouldn't the fact that the U.S. recognizes Christmas and Easter as legal Holidays be enough ? From a Muslim and Jewish point of view aren't we (governmentally) infidels and/or idolaters considering the truth claims made by the adherents of Christianity for Jesus. In democratic countries where Judaism is the predominate religion (the only one I know about is Israel) and in the non-democratic Muslim countries (of which there are many) Christmas and Easter are not celebrated with legal holidays are they ? Could we say that the main reason is there are not enough Christians to practically warrant the holidays in those places ? (i.e. disruption of normal services and functions by people taking the day off). Or would it tend to be based on theological reasons ? Bob Brown {...ihnp4!akgua!rjb}
