[net.religion] Reply to Ken Arnold about Oppenheimer

In article <279@ihu1m.UUCP> Ken Perlow writes:

Ken Perlow is partly correct. J Robert Oppenheimer was never
a member of the communist party, though he went to many of their
meetings (where, by the way, he met Kitty). His brother Frank
(zichrono l'vracha -- he just died a few days ago) *WAS* a
member of the communist party, and it was this that I was thinking
of in my posting.

I am also no fan of Teller but accusing Oppie of being a communist
was never done by Teller. This was also pointed out by Ken Arnold.
Oppie was a communist sympathizer in the 1930's, and this was
substantiated by many people, but Teller was not one of them.

Hope this clears up the situation.
