[net.religion] Very briefly, some statstics about articles

rlr@pyuxd.UUCP (Professor Wagstaff) (02/25/85)

Of the 63 articles still online at this site in n.r.c, I discovered the
following: (as of 2/22/85)

- 8 of them were on the subject of Rich Rosen and his contributions to
	the newsgroup (1265@akgua, 3245@umcp-cs, 148@cci-bdc, 5065@utzoo,
	254@cmu-cs-k, 589@mako, 1260@shark, 318@ihu1m)

- 6 of them were written to me with second person references to Rich Rosen
	(1582V6M@PSUVM, 1588V6M@PSUVM, 1600V6M@PSUVM, 1601V6M@PSUVM,
	1255@shark, 27200005@uok)

- 7 of them were actually written by me (which means that I responded to
about half of the articles either about me or directed at me)

-10 of them were either voicing opinions contrary to the Christian viewpoint
by non-Christians, or voicing opinions unrelated to Christianity by
Christians, including a comment on "Are Jews a Race?" (i.e., non-
	"Christian" topics).

I leave you to work out percentages and statistics yourselves, but one can
say that much more is said about me or to me than BY me, and that I am
certainly not the only one who offers non-Christian perspective here.

(Briefer update: later analysis of the 34 articles that followed since Friday.
Four were based on non-Christian perspectives (none of which came from me).
One was about the topic of non-Christian perspectives in the newsgroup. Five
were written directly to me in the second person, and I am including the
obnoxious attack by Martillo. (Where was Hutch to label THIS one as impolite?)
I offered three response articles, one to the two responses to me on "Child-
like faith" (prompted by an article written to me), one to the responses from
Dyer and Martillo, and one to the responses from Hutch. If this can be
conceived as "an attempt to trash a newsgroup", as Wingate sees it, it
would seem that we're more in the area of personal opinion than that of fact.)
