[net.religion] Misuse of logic - by R.J. [Bob] Brown

cs193aae@unm-la.UUCP (04/08/85)

[R.J. Brown writes:]
>Although I am honored by the title Reverend prepended to
>my name "Bob" ( though Rev is meant derisively by the
>caller), it is improper and offensive to do that.

How do you know what was meant by me? In point of fact
I thought that you were a Reverend, and that you went
by "Rev. Bob". [Attacking by the use of false implications
is usually something I would expect Bob Brown to do when
     he is writing into net.religion.jewish.]

>I am not a Reverend.

I'm really relieved to hear that, R.J.

>Hey Bill Peter - feel free to vilify ME - please don't attack
>a symbol of Christianity.

Are you saying that I was attacking Christianity by implying
that you were a Reverend? In that case I apologize to
Christians everywhere for supposing that a person of your, er,
prejudices, could ever be a part of the Christian clergy.

By the way, your short reply to Don Black was most enlightening.
Instead of decrying his racism and anti-semitism you simply
suggested that proselytizing would be difficult if the Jews
thought that "we wished to color them gone." WHAT DO YOU MEAN
'WE'? WHY DO YOU ASSOCIATE YOURSELF WITH A PERSON WHO SPEWS
     VITRIOLIC HATE AGAINST NON-ARYAN PEOPLE?

Net readers should be aware that Bob Brown cannot claim Wingate's
excuses of "rn" keys, or poor communication, etc., etc., since
he responded to the articles in question.

Well Bill Peter, you got me trapped between you and Rich
Rosen ( Rock and the Hard Place). If I say that Don Black is
not a Christian,"christian",etc., etc. Rich will say I am
conveniently defining away my problem while if I accept Don
on his confession that he is a Christian then I'm a jerk
for associating myself with him according to Bill Peter.

Whew! No wonder I'm illogical.

Part of the problem is that you chose to selectively read what
I said. I said he was wrong and a vile rhetoritician and Anti-
Semite. Sometime when I have more time I will try to do a better
job of explaining the connection between tactics and strategy
as far as evangelizing goes.
