[net.religion] a suggestion

The tone of the discussions going on in these newsgroups would be noticeably
higher if we all resisted the temptation to jump on a perceived weakness of
an opponent and wrestle him (it's usually "him") to the ground. I have, of
course, been as guilty of this as anyone else in my responses to articles by
non-Christians, particularly Rich Rosen; and I cannot guarantee that I won't
slip and gloat over the next chink I spot in their armor. But I have noticed
that when people address Rich (the prime example) calmly and courteously, he
usually responds similarly; but when a discussion shows signs of turning into
a brawl, he brawls as hard as anyone, and much more heat than light is
generated, with no real gain to anyone. Indeed, "Do not judge, and you will
not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.... For with
the measure you use, it will be measured to you." [Luke 6:37-38 NIV, excerpts]
