If I had never been off the ship and never even had any reason to believe that
the ship was going anywhere, and if I never saw the captain directly but
rather had several different people tell me different things about the captain
and where he's going, and if the captain was acting like a dictator and
doing things I'd consider evil if someone else did them (according to people's
stories about the captain) I certainly might have some doubts.
