[net.philosophy] What is reality?

tive reality. As this is at the heart
of the "scientific method" I haven't qualms about making the assumption.
In the world of real physics something else rears its ugly head. The
Quantum theory implies that the "precision of perception" CANNOT increase
without limit. It implies you CANNOT know both the position and velocity
(equivalent formulation: momentum and energy?) of a particle to an arbitrary
precision. In answer I give the known conflict between General Relativity
and Quantum Theory that occurs at high energies. It is highly likely that
"reality" will turn out to be a little more complicated than either theory
by itself envisions...
