[net.philosophy] reason & experience => decisions

Whoops--I almost let this one get away:

From Jan Wolter--
	I can't use just reason and experience to decide if I *want* to be
	dead.

Oh yes you can.

And to all those who keep asking how to tell rationality from irrationality,
but refuse to be satisfied by any answer: you're so determined to believe
it can't be done, no wonder you haven't realized that you've received some
pretty good answers in this net. And you seem to think that if people
can't always tell when they're being irrational, that somehow makes
rationality unworthwhile. What are you afraid of? Are you that plagued
with self-doubts about your rationality?

If you examine your attitudes toward the question of how to tell rationality
from irrationality, perhaps you'll find the sources of some irrationality.
And not only will that insight be a step back toward rationality, but you'll
have a first-hand experience in how to tell then apart!
