Two aspects of personality are the quest for "power" and the quest for "achievement". Those who by nature or accident are ostracised from the mainstream of interpersonal interactions do not have a chance to develop power-techniques (or their nature didn't have same in sufficient quantity in the first place) and so they develop their ability to do-things themselves. It is this ability to understand and affect the real world of ideas and things that leads to the "high tech type"-casting. (Keep in mind the many exceptions!) Sometimes I have felt I was "lucky" to be an out-cast because it gave me time to develop my interests and ideas and to enjoy the pleasures of solitude. John Milton summarized the two types of people in his poems: "Il Penseroso" ( the thinker ) and "Il Allegro" ( life in the fast lane ). Rick GIGI::Merrill
