I have a hard time believing that we've gotten so hung up on the meaning of
the word "energy".
Go pick up a dictionary. Look up the word "energy". Look up "plant".
Look up any common word. You'll find many definitions for a lot of them.
They're different, usually for use in different contexts. IT JUST AIN'T
THAT DIFFICULT.
Do you honestly think that a tired physicist never goes home at the end of
the day saying, "I've just got no energy left"? The physicist uses the
word "energy" differently in different contexts, without trying to
monopolize the use of the word for physics.
Where we get into problems is when someone uses a word out of context -
such as trying to use the concept of "energy" as physics intends it out of
the correct context. "PSI energy" is not related to "energy" as physicists
(or scientists in general) use the term, because "PSI" is unrelated to
science.
