For reasons unknown to me the "Crazy World of Arthur Brown" LP came up under the discussion of long, varied pieces. Unless I've been stuck with a banded Dj copy all these years thhis album has very traditional song structures. (Note to Schlumberger Paradise: There are plenty of copies of this LP floating around. Both originals and import reissues). Brown's later albums with his group "Kingdom Come" might better fit the Long Varied title. The first of their three releases, "Galactic Zoo Dosier" consists of many songs that all run together in various interesting ways. The other two LP's "Kingdom Come" and "Journey" each feature lengthy 70'sish-progressive tracks that go through various themes. ("Journey" is particularly interesting as a very early LP with all synthesized--primitively so--drums). Oh--also check The Hombres (of "Let It All Hang Out" fame) version of Gloria. It's about 7 minutes long and has "Eight Miles High" segued into the middle. ... ucbvax!ucbingres!ebm (aka ... uw-beaver!eli)
