[net.philosophy] Religious Language and Science - Definition of God

As the debate on God, religion, science etc. rages on, everyone,
regardless of position, seems to consider the concept of God as if it were a
single, common definition, to be argued for or against. Yet, I'm sure
everyone has a different perception of God, or what others mean when they
refer to God. I'd like to see just how common or divergent these percep-
tions are.

The question is, simply: what/who is God? Areas to include: is God a
being, a metaphysical construct, an allegory, a conscious power, a
parent/creator, or just what? Whether your position is to believe in God or
disbelieve, there is some mental image of what the word God refers to. I am
interested in sampling some of those images.

My Answer: (e) all of the above
	     (f) none of the above

To go into more detail would fill the net with *MOUNDS* of reasons that
I don't feel like writing right now. Reach me through E-mail and we can
discuss it.

I agree! At least I agree with what I think Mr Andersen is saying!
