I, for one, am really glad the Apple finally has it's own news group. I would like to solicit comments from Apple users about the "generic" brand disk drives that are currently being advertised. The ad usually reads "totally Apple compatible", and the price is outrageously low, but no brand is ever seen in the ad. Has anyone taken the gamble? We would like to hear from you... The second area of solicitation is 80-column boards. The BYTE review of last year seems out of date already. Which board has 80 column, upper/ lower case, and works with Apple software (in particular, Pascal), and is a reasonably good buy? On the flip side of that, which boards turned out to be lemons. That might provoke a few responses...
