This is in response to several requests for information about Softdisk Magazette (also 'cause I think it's great). Softdisk is one of several Disk Magazines to come out recently and I think it's one of the best bargains around. The basic format is two disks of information sent monthly in a reuseable mailer, with prepaid postage. The cost is $7.00/month or $55.00 a year (sample copy for $10.00). When you get the first issue you send back the empty mailer, the next month you keep the 'keeper' disk, the current issue, and send back the previous months disk. So for each month you can keep a disk and copy a disk. Softdisk is completely copyable and contains a wealth of information. On the first side of the first disk is the 'magazine' itself - a cover graphics, editorials, tutorials on Basic Programming, and Software reviews. Hi-res Movies, Music, Hires adventures and other features have been included in previous issues. On the back side of the first disk is the 'Harvest' - contributed software from subscribers. There have been some very sophisticated programs on this side, ranging from databases to editors, tutorials to text adventures, spread-sheets to spelling drills. All are list-able and a real learning experience to see how others do 'neat' things. If you submit a program that is published, you will get a free issue of the magazine. The second disk is dedicated to executable advertising, usually one large self-running demo and several other smaller demos. All in all it's a real bargain. See the current issue of Softalk for an example of a cover graphics. Their address is: Softdisk Magazette 3811 Saint Vincent Department S9 Shreveport, LA 71108 - Dale E.
