I'm almost finished with WIZ II. I'm looking for a SMALL hint from someone who has played through the entire scenario... On the first floor, you are told by Gnilda to retreive the armor of the Knight of Diamonds and bring it to her and she will give you the staff of Lyllgamin. We have collected the KOD's helmet, armor, gauntlets, shield, and a sword named Hrathnir. Yet when we went back to level one, we were not given the staff. MY QUESTION IS: do we have to solve the Sphinx's riddle on level 6 before we get the staff? PLEASE DON"T TELL ME THE ANSWER TO THE RIDDLE... we want to work on that ourselves. Also, if you've read this far, you may be interested in knowing that the WIZPLUS program that's now available can be a real character-saver! We hadn't played in about 6 mos. and our mapmaker (me) misread a map and teleported the entire crew into solid rock on the first move! WIZPLUS lets you recover from that. Heck, I haven't even gotten the sword! And I couldnt help you with the riddle either. I could use a hint-- where was the sword. I have the rest of the goodies. I too have lost characters, but simply make a backup before I start an evening run. If I get back to the tavern, I drop out of the game, and make another backup. If I lose the party, simply copy the backup to the scenario. Work, but worth it. If I had WIZPLUS, I would be too tempted to cheat in more serious ways. I would like to hear more from others, too. I don't have my maps here at work, but I will try and find where the sword was and let you know. I am now working on the third scenario, and it is great. I finished Knight in about 2 weeks, but am taking much longer on Legacy. For one thing, you need to have both a good and an evil team. This tends to slow development for any one team (although I do have a mage that is neutral that travels with both). Has anyone finished this one yet? Never can tell when I may need some hints. BTW, I did not get the original article this was a response to? Where did it come from, and any ideas why it didn't get here? -- eric ...!seismo!umcp-cs!aplvax!eric

is there any way to reinitialise the goodies on Wizardry 1? I just teleported into a wall by mistake while i was carrying good stuff. Nuking my brother's best character is bad enough -- have I just made it impossible for him to win the game? laura creighton utzoo!utcsstat!laura
