I am thinking for purchasing a removable hard disk for my Apple //e. I would appreciate any information and recommendations anyone might have one different brand names and controller cards for them. I am interested in one that can run the P-system,DOS, and Pro-Dos (when that becomes available). Thanks, Ron Breger (sdcsvax,noscarpa,apl-uw,ntisa,ntisa,bang,mplvax mpladmin, uhpgvax, daffy, ncsu, rti)!noscvax!breger

I have a Corvus 6Mb on my Apple //e and I am very pleased with it. When it is configured under DOS 3.3, the workspace is divided into 37 volumes, each treated as a single floppy. You also get the software to configure the workspace for pascal, with the advantage that the volumes can be any size less than 5Mb. Or, you can configure the disk for pascal, and then turn any or most of the disk into DOS 3.3 format ( as I have done ), where when I boot up my system it comes-up in pascal, I then can execute a program to go into BASIC if I choose. Rather than a removeable disk, the Corvus is a true Winchester, but you can get the Mirror option that allows a backup of the system to any standard VCR. The 6-megger takes about 13 minutes to backup, and 13 minutes to verify the data. I am looking forward for Pro-DOS, a great part of my work is with Aztec 'C' and variable sized directories will be great with my Corvus. Lonnie R. Abelbeck {aluxe | mhuxh}!lra
