According to the New York Times, Apple will introduce a portable version of the IIe on April 24th called the Apple IIc. $1295 Briefcase size (no display) 128Kb "internal memory" One floppy disk 7 1/2 lbs excluding 5 lb battery pack Full size key board Optional mouse Since the II series is based on the 6502 I wonder how the 128K is mapped. I am intrigued by the mouse; are they planning a Lisa/Mac-like interface? -- Brian McElhinney Teltone Corp. {ihnp4,decvax}!uw-beaver!teltone!teldata!mce

I would presume the 128K on the Apple IIc will be mapped the same way as the 128K on an Apple //e. Apple has already announced a series of Lisa/Mac-like software for the entire Apple II series. Some is available now and more is coming. -- Dave Seaman ..!pur-ee!pucc-i:ags "Against people who give vent to their loquacity by extraneous bombastic circumlocution."

I would imagine that the Apple IIc 128K memory and mouse are the same as on my Apple //e. The 128K is really two 64K memory pools, each bank-switched the old Apple II+ way, with the 64K pool selected by soft switch. The mouse is an Apple Mouse II ($125 including MousePaint software)
