>THE opinion: >I have read the specs and I personally >AM NOT IMPRESSED!!! Well, I have read the specs, and I AM impressed. The only thing it doesn't have is lots of expandability, and I'll bet the disk drive port will give us that some day. I have decided to go ahead and purchase a IIc unless something bad shows up in it before I get to it. I wouldn't consider it if I needed CP/M, a clock or something else that requires a slot but because all I'm really interested in is already available in the back of the machine (printer, modem, mouse, monitor, second disk) I don't care. The minimized chip count should make the stupid thing very reliable, the light weight and small size will help it to fit into my house, the low price (compared to earlier apples -- I had a II+ that was pretty comparable to the IIc and it ran me a good $2800 versus <$1500 today) makes it competitive with things like Commodores even before you thow in available software (Wizardy again! *drool*) and customer support issues. chuq If it only had a decent processor. Not that the 6502 sucks or anything.... *snicker* -- >From the closet of anxieties of: Chuq Von Rospach {amd70,fortune,hplabs,ihnp4}!nsc!chuqui (408) 733-2600 x242 How do you know if you're really in love?
