Is this slick, wifty disk drive controller that uses only a few, cheap
chips to blame for the slow access speed of Apple drives? I didn't
really think that much of it on the original Apples, inasmuch as they
were doing an awful lot with just a 6502, but the Macintosh is *just*
as bad! Approx. 20 seconds to load an application! What in the world
it could be doing with all that time is quite beyond me. Could it be
that the Wozniak controller scheme is intrinsically slow for some reason?
Or is there some minor implementation problem here?
