I would like to get instructions for building an apple joystick,
preferably for two joysticks. Can anyone out there help me?
Thanks in advance!

Please excuse me if you have already read this, but the first article
didn't show up here.
I would like information for building an apple joystick (preferably
for dual joysticks). I have gone through countless magazines in search of the
elusive joystick instructions, to no avail. Does anybody out there know where
I can find this information?
Thanks in advance!!

An apple ][(+)(e) joystick is simply a 150K potentiometer with one
side at ground, the other at +5 and the wiper to the joystick wire
on the connector.

The Apple II joystick is just a pair of potentiometers (variable resistors) each of 150Kohm maximum resistance, arranged with a mechanical linkage so that the stick turns one for motion in the X direction and the other for motion in the Y direction. There are also one or two momentary-contact pushbuttons. The connections that need to be made to the joystick connector or peripheral DIP socket are described in the Apple II technical reference manual. You would be better off buying a joystick (both Apple and Kraft make good ones) unless you just like to work with mechanical widgets.
