I would like to use my new Macintosh system as a terminal (on a Unix system), if possible both as a standard alphameric terminal and as a graphics terminal. Ideally, I would like VT100 and Tek 4010/14 emulation. I would also be interested in upload/download software for MacPaint and MacWriter files. Does anyone out there know anything about what's available and where to find it? I strongly suspect that much of this has already been discussed in this group; if so, please don't hesitate to send me a summary of what has transpired by mail instead of rehashing it on the net. Thanks in advance, Ed Turner astrovax!elt

MacTerminal does what you want, VT100 (very well!) with XMODEM upload/download which also works very well, I have used it from an RBBS system and to/from an IBM-PC running VTERM... There is also a program for the Mac called TekAlike by a company in new mexico or arizona, I forget which,, anyway, this program does 4010/4014 graphics on the mac at a full 9600 baud, I have this program on order and will let the nets know about it when I get it.. I talked to the head guy about this program and he told me that it would deffinetly be out the week of 15-aug, so I expect the program next week sometime (US-snail is slow...) anyway, I will let everybody know about it when I get it..
