[net.micro.apple] Apple Super Serial Card

I have been running my Apple //e for a year with the Apple 80-col card, the

CCS7710 serial card, Hayes 1200 external modem. I use this equipment with
ASCII Express software.

The problem is that I had borrowed the the CCS7710 board. I bought the
Apple Super Serial card for this system and I am having problems
geting it to run. I configured the board to 1200 baud, communication
mode, no interupts, 8-bit ASCII 2 stop bit no parity. I also replaced
the null modem cable used with the CCS7710 board with a cable which provides
straight through connections. The board's jumper block is
configured for a modem.

I changed the comunication driver in the ASCII Express software to
the Super Serial Card.

When I use the system, the auto dialer outpulses, I get through to the
remote computer, but the screen prints garbage, the high speed light on
the modem is out and ASCII Express has switched to 300 baud.

Is any one out there using such a combination? If so I would like
some hints.
