From: Bob Soron <Mly.G.Pogo%MIT-OZ@MIT-MC.ARPA> Some time ago InfoWorld and most Apple-concerned magazines published reports that Woz was working on a firmware card that would upgrade the ][+ to a //e. Does anyone know if Apple has any intention of actually doing this? Also, the ProDOS User's Kit >finally< arrived in this area, and among its many faults is a licensing agreement tucked invisibly inside the package. The dealer didn't mention it to me while I was buying the "Kit," even though there's a dealer's copy of the license. Is this a fluke? Are the rest of the packages like that? The last case I remember decided that even the licensing agreement that becomes valid once the seal is broken is questionable. Did Apple blow it? (Although, for those of us who enjoy the security of having back-up copies for our own use, it may worthwhile to sign it, since it explicitly allows back-up copies (their plural) to be made for our own use. Any commercial ProDOS licensee would have to abide by that, I assume?) ...Bob -------
