Does anyone still make hard disk subsystems for Apple II+ computers? I have an Apple with CP/M and Pascal, and need a hard disk (too many floppies!) for storage (10Mb). I would appreciate any pointers or references - please mail them to me via the net (I LOVE mail). If there is sufficient interest I'll summarize to the net. Many thanks! Dale Call Tektronix, Inc. From: Dan Chernikoff <dan@sri-tsc.ARPA> I believe that Corvus is still making 10 and 20 Meg hard disks. IN fact they have this funky system called a "Constellation II" that allows you to hook up a 20 Meg corvus to BOTH an Apple II and an IBM PC at the SAME TIME. Pretty bizarre. Unfortunatly I don't have their address, but they are a local (Silicon Valley) company -- probably Mountain View CA. Good Luck! -Dan Chernikoff dan@sri-tsc

Not only does the Corvus Constellation allow you to hook up an Apple and an IBM to the same hard disk. It also allows you to connect other computers like TRS-80's, NEC's, etc... With the Corvus OmniNet local area network and a 20 meg Corvus drive, you can actually link up to 64 workstations to that single hard disk, complete with password security for each user. I've had the chance to use such a system, and it seems great. You can 'partition' the disk, such that software in DOS, CP/M, Pascal, and other formats can occupy various parts of the disk at the same time, so you are not limited to just one operating system. The only thing that puts me off is the price, which can be pretty steep, depending on the configuration.
