At his request, I have posted a copy of Dave Kliman's Altered
Finder in net.sources.
This will give your Macintosh an interesting new look.
It is in tohex format.
The easiest way to install it is to make it am application, then
hold down option and command while double-clicking it. Then,
you can delete "finder" and rename the altered finder "finder".
