[net.micro.apple] Apple Comm cards -- what is the difference

usenet@abnjh.UUCP (usenet) (10/08/84)

It turns out that Apple has not made the 'plain vanilla' serial card
for a long time. The only one they sell nowadays is the 'super
serial' card. Whats more, the super serial card looks like it does
just about everything you could reasonably want when interfacing to a
modem or serial interface printer. It has a switch to enable
transparent transmission of eight bit data. It has a switch to enable
interrupts on each arriving character.
